NEW UNDYING EMBER REPORT

Assigned dorm: 7B. Trainee to share dorm with trainee Abiegni.

Initial exam assessment results: Trainee was tested on her expertise with her preferred weapon. This was done through the standard mock fight. Upon special request, it was I, not Fraxinus, who conducted the mock fight. 

Trainee demonstrates an incredible amount of endurance. Her reflexes are sharp. Her footwork is impressive. What she lacks in agility she makes up for in strength.

However, subject lacks actual combat experience. Her sword stance was incorrect. She lost power with every swing. Trainee has the raw strength to overcome an attack, but not the skill to power through the maneuver. It is clear she has little experience with a sword.

Trainee’s affinity for magic was also examined. She has no prior experience with magic, and little natural affinity for tapping into His Eternal Warmth’s mighty Forge.

Trainee’s attitude is concerning. Trainee has little confidence in herself or in her abilities. Suggestions for improvement immediately following the exam were met with pessimism. When reminded that she has received a Spark, and thus has been chosen to serve His Eternal Warmth, trainee began to cry. Attempts to console the trainee were not successful.

Trainee’s overall results are average. If her attitude improves, then there are only two lingering concerns left: her age, and the speed at which her training is to be completed. 

Training for an Ember of her skill lasts an average of 3-5 years. Per the Flame-Feeder’s request, trainee will participate in the Branding Ceremony next month. I have pushed back against this request. No trainee, not even one such as her, could ever be ready in that short of a timeline. My feedback was disregarded.

*Trainee requested to use a spear for her initial exam. Request was denied.
